Inside Michelle Keegan’s new solo life in Australia amid long distance marriage with Mark Wright

Michelle Keegan has been living her best solo life in Australia amid her long distance marriage with Mark Wright.

The former Coronation Street star, 35, is currently abroad filming for the BBC's new drama series Ten Pounds, but took a break from the show last weekend.

The Our Girl actress took the opportunity to head out on an unaccompanied train tour to Cairns, and documented her journey with photos and video clips.

She then shared an Instagram Reel of her travels with her 5.9m followers, and captioned the post: "Last weekend I had some time off work so decided to explore more of Australia and took myself on a little solo trip north to Cairns!

"Where I ate, drank, met koalas (yes I bought the photo) took a train journey through the rainforest, wandered through the heritage markets and asked a stranger to take a picture of me.

"I had the most amazing time. Yes travelling alone can be scary but life’s too short to let that fear get in your way!

"Take the trip, make the memories & capture them to remember forever".

35 year old hubby Mark was left behind in Essex to finish the constructions of their mansion, which reportedly costs £3.5m.

Michelle chose One Direction's song Night Changes as the soundtrack for her expedition, a fitting nostalgic tune for a seemingly laidback, relaxed getaway.

At the start of the video, Michelle can be seen walking barefoot along the beach in a colourful outfit before showing off her toned abs in a bikini-clad photograph with a large blue smoothie.

There was no stopping her from enjoying some fine Aussie cuisine with a large portion of pasta, salad and a refreshing glass of white wine before the Reel switched to a late evening at the beach lit by moonlight.

Later, she enjoyed a long train ride through the rainforest on her journey north, sharing snippets from the carriage, greenery outside the window, including a stunning waterfall, and snacks along the way.

She then stopped off at Kuranda Rainforest Market, taking pictures of colourful street art, market stalls and capturing the moment a butterfly spread its wings on the tip of her finger.

Fans were quick to shower her comments section with praise, complimenting the star for her bravery for dabbling in solo travel.

One person said: "Love this! Exactly why I took myself off travelling around Australia for 8 months! Best experience ever."

A second wrote: "Love cairns, learnt scuba there too. Glad you loved it, solo travelling is awesome."

"Love this. What a beautiful and brave thing to do! And just because you’re married it doesn’t have to mean these adventure stop!! It’s healthy and good soul food! Inspiring @michkeegan," another said.

Michelle's sister-in-laws also left comments under the post, with Jess Wright saying: "We miss you," and Natalya Wright commenting: "So cute, miss you."

Michelle and her husband Mark are known for supporting each other in their individual endeavours over the course of their seven year marriage.

Mark previously told the No Boundaries podcast: "If I wanna go away and work for two weeks, my wife supports that."
