Inside Playboy Bunnies bitter feud – from fighting over Hefner to wedding row

Two women who made a name for themselves as Hugh Hefner’s favourite Playboy Bunnies have been feuding for years.

Since the Playboy Mansion closed its doors a number of years ago, we have learnt that life inside wasn’t as glamorous as we were made to think it was.

Former Playmates have shared tales of carpets encrusted with dog excrement, unhygienic-sounding group-pleasure sessions and shady methods of payment.

While Holly Madison and Kendra Wilkinson were regularly photographed together and seemed to get along, they’re no longer talking.

Holly began dating Hugh in 2001 after she attended one of the weekly pool parties at the mansion and Kendra started dating the magazine publisher after she worked his 78th birthday party in 2004.

When E! cameras were allowed inside the wrought iron gates to film the series for The Girls Next Door, the group – which also included Bridget Marquardt – became recognised as more than just Hugh's girlfriends.

Holly, Kendra and Bridget were the stars of the reality series, which premiered in August 2005 and ran for five seasons.

But while they seemed to get along during and after the filming of Girls Next Door, their relationship quickly fell apart.

Even though Holly and Bridget were Kendra’s bridesmaids when she walked down the aisle in 2009, during a 2012 interview with CNN, Kendra said she was “never even really friends” with the pair.

And this isn’t the only time she’s spoken out about her relationship with the former Playmates.

“At the end of the day, it’s a very awkward situation ’cause it’s not like we’re The Spice Girls,” Kendra said on Fox 5’s Good Day New York in 2015.

“We dated an 80-year-old man at the same time. It’s very awkward. [Holly] probably wants to distance herself from that situation. God bless her, she should. It’s embarrassing because I saw some things that she probably doesn’t want me to talk about.”

In the same year, Holly alleged in her 2015 memoir Down the Rabbit Hole that despite appearances, she and Kendra’s relationship was rocky from the start.

"Hungry from her own 'team,' Kendra desperately tried to make each new Playmate who arrived at the Mansion her friend — and her friend alone,” she wrote.

“At 19 years old, Kendra was stuck with a 9PM curfew, a 78-year-old boyfriend, and a stricter set of rules than she had ever had at home.

“And now, adding insult to injury, she was finally realising that she wasn’t as special as Hef made her believe. She was just another blonde girlfriend – and life at the Mansion wasn’t all she imagined it to be.”

The drama didn't end there – as it seemed Holly felt betrayed after hearing Kendra thought they weren’t friends.

She addressed it in her memoir, revealing that she ended up texting Kendra to address how she really felt, calling her a "coward" and "the fakest person [she'd] ever met".

Holly concluded: “After that, I deleted her number from my phone. Kendra and I haven't spoken since, and I have to say, I don't miss her."

In an interview with Us Weekly at the time, Kendra slammed the book, saying “It’s a shame that someone can’t be appreciative of what something like that has given them.”

Over the years Holly and Kendra have continued to have a back-and-forth over how they feel about their time in the Mansion and what they think of each other.

The last time either of them addressed their fallout was in 2022 when Holly appeared on the Juicy Scoop podcast.

She said that originally, she “loved Kendra" and felt like the pair had a sibling rivalry while in the Mansion.

But when Kendra was filming her reality show Kendra on Top in 2015, things apparently shifted.

“Things got weird with me and Kendra and I felt like [the producer] was encouraging that, like, he wanted us fighting, he wanted the drama," she said.

“He wanted me to come on her show and, like, brag about how much money I was making in Vegas, so she'd get a little poke in the a** to take more jobs to make her show more interesting."

Yikes, sounds like there's no love lost there then…
