Inside Shane Richie’s life with wife Christie and family as he takes on major storyline

Shane Richie returned to EastEnders last year as he reprised his role of Alfie Moon, much to the delight of fans and has continued to be at the heart of huge storylines.

The actor, 59, returned to Albert Square for the first time in more than three years last autumn – the last time fans had seen the beloved character was when he decided to flee Walford back in January 2019.

Now Shane is set to take on his biggest storyline to date as his energetic character is diagnosed with prostate cancer in scenes set to air, with BBC working alongside Prostate Cancer UK and Macmillan Cancer Support to make sure the story is "authentic".

As viewers gear up to see Shane take on the heart wrenching story, we take a look at his life off screen..

Shane was previously married to Loose Women star Coleen Nolan and they had two children together, Shane Jr and Jake – the pair divorced in 1999.

The soap star now lives in Surrey with his wife Christie Goddard who he married in 2007 and they have three children together, Mackenzie Blue, Lolita Bell and Romani-Skye.

Actress and dancer, Christie has starred in the TV series Hustle and claims that she is one of the "Goddashians", poking fun at herself and her crazy family with hilarious dress-up pictures and dance routines on social media.

You’ll find the spoof movies on The Goddashians and Co Instagram page, which has over 760 followers watching their silliness at home.

The whole family get involved with the shenanigans, including Christie’s sisters and parents Phil and Jackie Goddard, who showed they have been up for a good laugh.

The brood are often videoed donning wild outfits and sitting in the makeup chair to recreate the iconic looks of 80s heroes from Abba and Flashdance, plus Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers and more famous stars from their youths.

Christie and her clan have been tickling fans with their parody shoots, filming behind-the-scenes footage, action shots and amazing music videos made famous by pop stars.

They’ve lip synced their way through Take a Chance by Abba and Let’s Get Physical by Olivia Newton John.

Shane stars in the social media show, too and has been spotted dancing with Christie’s dad to Jump Around by House of Pain.

In an early Instagram post, "The Goddashians" introduced themselves to the world.

The post read: "We’re just having a little bit of fun like we used to as kids, growing up, dressing up and singing some good ole classics from the 70s 80s 90s etc… as you do when your hubbie has a new camera."

It continued: "Hope you enjoy us just having a laugh."

Set to be a star from childhood, Christie spent four years at the Italia Conti School in London before scoring roles in pantomimes and comedy sketches with Julian Clary and Lily Savage.

Dad Phil was always her worst critic and always wanted his little girl to be the very best.

Christie met EastEnders legend Shane in 2001 when they shared the stage in a Jack and the Beanstalk pantomime.

After dating for about four years, Shane proposed in 2005 and they tied the knot two years later.
