Why Bam Margera’s estranged wife, Nicole Boyd, filed for legal separation

Bam Margera was caught on video shouting at his estranged wife, Nicole Boyd, just moments before he was arrested for public intoxication.

In a video obtained by TMZ Friday, the “Jackass” alum is seen pacing inside a dimly lit restaurant Wednesday before saying, “That’s wrong. It’s wrong.”

Margera then walks over to Boyd, who is holding their 5-year-old son, Phoenix, and tells her, “Phoenix has his own mind. … Let him have his own mind!”

The former MTV personality, 43, subsequently stomps on the floor and shouts once more, “Let him have his own mind!”

He appeared to be slurring his words during the rant.

Margera then tells Boyd, 39, “Why do you make me wait five f–king five days?” before slamming the front door of the eatery and shouting, “F–king f–k!”

He appeared to be upset over his custody schedule with his son. However, his reps declined Page Six’s request for comment.

In February, Boyd filed for legal separation and asked for both legal and physical custody of Phoenix. She first requested full custody in 2021.

However, this time, Boyd was willing to allow Margera supervised visits of their son — as long as they took place within Los Angeles County and her estranged husband covered the expenses.

Her attorney previously said that Boyd made the “hard choice” to file “to protect herself and their son” since she believed Margera had been under the influence and acting “inappropriately” around Phoenix.

Soon after an enraged Margera was recorded shouting in front of his child Wednesday, police arrested him outside of the Thai restaurant in Burbank, Calif.

He was booked for misdemeanor public intoxication.

Margera, who has openly battled addiction, has been in and out of rehab for years and had a string of legal issues as a result of his substance abuse problems.

Most recently, he was arrested in early March for allegedly kicking his new girlfriend.

About six months prior, he had a stint in rehab following multiple attempts to escape the facility.

Despite his woes, Margera has repeatedly publicly expressed his love for his only child.

Last weekend, the “Viva La Bam” star showed off a face tattoo of his son’s name and wrote on Instagram, “I miss Phoenix the wolf so much I had to to get his name tattooed on my f–kin face to remind Nikki she is breaking my heart by not letting me see him.”

Margera and Boyd married in October 2013 and welcomed Phoenix in December 2017.
