John Lewis August Bank Holiday 2022: What time are stores open today? | The Sun

JOHN Lewis is one of the most popular department stores in the UK, so it is important to know when they are open over the Easter bank Holiday.

Here's all you need to know about when you can shop in John Lewis stores over the holidays.

Is John Lewis open over the Easter Bank Holiday?

John Lewis has varying opening hours during the Easter bank Holiday, with many stores open for longer than others.

John Lewis are department stores, which means that they exceeds 280 square metres in size, due to the range of items that they sell.

Because of this, they will not be open on Easter Sunday due to a rule set by the UK Government.

A John Lewis spokesperson said: "All of our shops will be open between at least 10pm to 6pm on Good Friday and Easter Monday. Many will be open for longer, so customers should check our website for details of their local store.

Customers can use the John Lewis branch finder tool in order to find the opening times of their nearest store.

Will shops be closed over the Easter bank Holiday?

Under rules upheld by the UK Government, shops larger than 280 square metres must remain closed on Easter Sunday.

This means that large supermarkets such as Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Asda and Tesco will be closed for the day.

However, larger stores in Scotland will open as usual on this day, as there are no trading restrictions in that country.

However, stores smaller than 280 square metres are allowed to stay open, as these are classed as smaller shops.

This means that smaller versions of stores such as Sainsbury's local can remain open under government guidelines.

For other retailers, there is no obligation to close on this day, however, they may choose to give workers the day off.
