Kate Bock’s gorgeous Ralph Lauren wedding dress was covered in two million beads.
According to Vogue, the supermodel’s gown took more than 1,800 hours to make and was covered two million hand-placed beads that were embroidered onto the bodice, sleeves, skirt and train.
“The Ralph Lauren team are true experts, and I had so much fun working with them on creating something that was classic, elegant, and fit in seamlessly with the theme of our wedding,” Bock — who wed Cleveland Cavalier player Kevin Love on June 25 — told the magazine.
The 34-year-old added, “I took inspiration from Grace Kelly’s lace dress, and we created a modern-day beaded gown that was totally my style.”
Wedding planner Marcy Blum called it “the world’s heaviest dress” and her 1.5 meter-long veil “the world’s longest veil.”
The groom was also outfitted by Ralph Lauren at the “Great Gatsby”-inspired event, which was held at the New York Public Library. He sported an ivory tuxedo jacket for the ceremony. He changed into a custom all-black suit for the reception.
Love, 33, surprised his new wife with a pair of vintage earrings as a wedding gift, which she wore for the ceremony along with pieces lent by Tiffany & Co.
For the reception, Bock changed into two separate Danielle Frankel looks — one, a long silk gown with an “Old Hollywood” vibe and the other a minidress with tulle overlay for the afterparty at Célon.
“We’re very aligned on our aesthetic and our vision and our dream and our style,” Bock told Page Six Style on wedding planning with Love earlier this year ahead of their nuptials.
Clearly, it was a dream come true.
