Kate Middleton has strict condition on Prince George playing key Coronation role

In just over two months' time, the Coronation of King Charles and Camilla will be well underway, and preparations for the major event are already a-go. Including which royals are going to be involved in the ceremony.

We already know that Prince William will play a big part, due to the fact that he’s the future King and heir to the throne after his father.

However, as it stands, it’s not just Will that’s expected to be involved – rumours have been flying around that his eldest son, nine year old Prince George of Wales will also be undertaking some responsibility.

It comes from reports that his grandfather,King Charles III , is eager for the youngster to take part in the historic ceremony.

While this might be an exciting bit of news for the young Prince (like the rest of the children across the UK, he’ll get a day off school thanks to his grandfather being crowned King on a Monday), he still has to take orders from his mum and dad like a regular kid. Albeit, the orders he receives will be anything but normal.

Apparently, George’s parents,William, Prince of WalesandCatherine, Princess of Waleshave set some very strict terms and conditions in regards to his involvement in the Coronation.

As per the Sunday Times, William and Kate are set to meet with Charles and Camilla very soon to review the role little George will take on.

Specifically to discuss how the royal couple don’t want their son to be subjected to “overwhelming scrutiny.”

What’s more, if the green light goes ahead and he does have responsibilities, it will break the tradition of the last two ceremonies.

Both Charles and his mother, the late Queen, did not take part in the coronations of their respective parent – they watched from the congregation.

Speaking to the Sunday Times, royal historian Hugo Wickers explained: “Bringing George in also sends all the right symbolism for the future and gives him something he will always remember. It is certainly different – this coronation is getting more interesting by the minute."

Unlike their brother, William and Kate’s youngest children, Princess Charlotte, seven, and Prince Louis, four, will not have roles in the ceremony. They’ll act as spectators, among other members of the family and invited guests.

In regards toHarry and Meghan , it’s unclear as to whether the couple will attend. While they have received an invite, the Coronation also coincides with their son Archie’s fourth birthday.
