Kate Middleton will enjoy a rise in popularity in the coming months due to one particular phenomenon, The Crown. Royal expert Nick Ede explained why.
The next season of The Crown will contribute to an uptick in popularity for the Princess of Wales in the US, the royal expert said.
Nick, who regularly appears on GMB on ITV, `The Royal Agenda on Royalty TV, and The Royal Box for Yahoo! told Express: “I think the interesting thing about the US is that they love The Crown, and The Crown is now in a contemporary world, in our world.
“Next season we’re going to have Diana’s death. We’re going to have Camilla and Charles and how they get together. And that is for the Royal Family is very negative PR. There’s nothing positive that’s going to come out of it.”
The show, although a fictionalized version of royal history, does impact the way viewers perceive the Royal Family.
Historian and royal expert Robert Lacey, a historical consultant on The Crown, told the BBC: “There’s no doubt that The Crown has changed our perceptions of the monarchy.”

The next and final season of The Crown commenced filming in the summer of 2022 and will wrap filming in May to June 2023. It is predicted to air in November 2023.
The show will cover events from the mid-to-late 1990s to the early 2000s. This will cover the death of Princess Diana and the premiership of Tony Blair, as well as 9/11 and the War in Iraq.
The Prince and Princess of Wales’s budding romance will feature in the last season, an exciting addition for royal fans.
Imelda Staunton will continue to play Queen Elizabeth II and Dominic West will still be in the role of Prince Charles. Princess Diana will be played again by Elizabeth Debecki.
New additions to the cats will be Rufus Kampa and Ed McVey playing a young and older Prince William. Meg Bellamy will play Kate Middleton.

Nick explained why this new season, while negative for the perception of some royals, will be good for Kate. He said: “The people who aren’t associated with that, so people like Catherine will come across much better and probably have a bigger appeal in America in the next few months.”
Nick argued it’s likely the US audience will “always” be interested in Kate. He said: “I think though, that the Prince and the Princess of Wales, especially Kate, they love her style, they love her passion. They love English people.
“So, whatever happens, she will always be somebody that they will look up to in that she is going to be the future queen. “From that point of view, they’ll still have that interest in them.”
