Kevin Costner’s Ex Moves Into $35,000/Month Rental As Prenup Forces Her To Leave Family Home

Kevin Costner’s estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner, has finally moved out of his mansion after refusing to leave for months, despite it defying their strict prenup. She’s reportedly moved into a very pricey rental, which Kevin appear to be covering for the time being.

As per photos captured by the Daily Mail, Christine’s new abode is only 10 miles from the $145 million Carpinteria mansion she shared with Kevin during their two-decade marriage.

Christine’s new place costs $35,000 per month, which is explained by its luxury amenities and spaciousness. The home features 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a swimming pool, and outdoor firepit plus BBQ area.

Christine and Kevin originally married in 2004, but she filed for divorce earlier this year. The estranged couple share three young children.

It was initially reported in June that Christine was defying their prenup by refusing to leave their shared mansion, which stipulates she must leave the home (which Kevin purchased in 1988, a decade prior to their wedding) within 30 days should they divorce.

“Christine has not moved out, despite multiple requests that she do so and despite Kevin’s offers to assist her financially in relocation to a new residence,” his lawyers wrote in court documents.

“Instead, Christine has taken the position that she will not move out of Kevin’s separate property residence unless and until Kevin agrees to various financial demands,” the filing went on.

Christine later defended herself, saying she couldn’t afford to until a child support arrangement was established.

Despite Kevin’s net worth reportedly being $250 million, the prenup also only entitles Christine to $1 million, which Kevin claimed to have paid before she vacated the property.

It’s been reported that Kevin insisted on a strict prenup before marrying Christine due to his record-breaking divorce from Cindy Silva. Kevin and Cindy were married from 1978 to 1994 and had three kids. She got an $80 million settlement when they divorced since there was no prenup.

At the end of July, it was reported that Christine agreed to temporarily move into a compound, which was still located on Kevin’s property but detached from the main home. “Christine is following the legal advice per the prenup and is vacating the family house,” a source told PEOPLE. “[She] will stay at a smaller house on the property that’s been used as a staff quarter.”

However, it appears Christine has found something more permanent in her new (and expensive) rental home.
