A Labrador was reunited with owners in an unexpected way – after being found inside a takeaway two whole weeks after she was reported missing.

Labrador Rosie left her owners Mark and Kirsty Haddow devastated after she went missing in the Bertha Park Loch area in Perth.

The pair relentlessly searched for their precious pet, walking miles with their sons Kyle and Josh to look for her after posting a cry for help on Facebook.

But it was good news for the family when Rosie wandered into Baba’s Takeaway, located on Anderson Avenue, Perth, on Sunday – which ironically had a missing poster for her in the window.

Staff at the takeaway, which serves food ranging from fresh pizza to kebabs, immediately recognised the adorable canine from their poster, and gave her food and water while they waited for her relieved owners to arrive.

Owners Mark and Kirsty Haddow were beaming with joy as soon as they heard the good news – and Mark’s mother Kate drove the couple down to Baba’s takeaway.

Baba’s manager Saif Rashid told The Daily Record: ‘We just arrived and she was there. I grabbed her collar and didn’t want to let her go’.

Luckily, Rosie was unharmed but ticks were discovered on her body.

But despite numerous search efforts in the Bertha Park Loch area, nobody knows where Rosie was for the two week period or what she was doing.

To thank the local pet agencies who aided Mark and his family with his search he has set up an online fundraiser to support Missing Pets, Perth and Kinross and Search Dogs For Lost Dogs Scotland,

The Missing Pets, Perth and Kinross Scotland Facebook page updated followers on the Labrador’s return and the post has amassed 4,000 likes and over 700 comments.

They expressed their disbelief, telling followers: ‘We cannot quite believe yet but Rosie the lab who has been missing for 2 WEEKS with not a single sighting has been found safe this morning after wandering into Bertha Parks local takeaway.

‘Big thank you especially to Saif for keeping Rosie topped up with treats while they waited for us to arrive’.
