Lightning strike delays printing and delivery of The Saturday Age

A lightning strike on Friday night disrupted the printing of The Saturday Age.

Some copies of The Saturday Age were delivered late on Saturday morning after lightning hit the Melbourne Print Centre in the city’s west at 9pm on Friday.

The company described the outage as a one-in-10-year event.

“We apologise to all our subscribers who did not receive a copy of The Age today due to a lightning strike at our printing plant and flooding in some areas of the state,” acting Age editor Michael Bachelard said.

“We are doing everything we can to rectify the situation.”
