The Sumatran youngsters had spent weeks inside following their births in June –and lucky visitors witnessed their outing on Thursday. Keepers will examine and name the siblings at three months, when mum Gaysha might be happier to let them out of her sight.

Keeper Kathryn Sanders said: “Gaysha decided it’s time for the trio to explore, but she is keeping a close eye on all three, alongside dad Asim.”

There are just 300 of the critically endangered species left in the wilds of Indonesia, down from 1,000 in 1979.
