Love Islands Jay Younger reveals heartbreaking meaning behind secret arm tattoo

This year’sLove Islandsingleton lineup is peppered with males who have plenty of tattoos.

WhileLuca Bish set tongues wagging with his array of inkingsandAndrew Le Page’s tatt was read into by expertsto have a very sweet meaning, IslanderJay Youngeralso spots a piece of body art with an emotional meaning.

Jay, 28, joined the series as a bombshelland called himself an “Italian main course”. He said: “I'm definitely not afraid of breaking up a couple. Davide might be the Italian snack but I'm definitely the Italian main course." The investment analyst showed off a tattoo on the show while flexing his muscles.

The inking, which is written in the Tamil language, posed many questions with viewers.

It turns out that the design is of huge importance to the 28-year-old Scotsman.

That’s because the Edinburgh-born star is paying tribute to one of his best pals who sadly passed away.

The tattoo, which represents the word ‘brother’, honours Jay's friend Danny Priyadharshan who died suddenly in 2017.

Jay’s siblings, who are running his social media accounts while he’s in the villa, explained that the inking recognises Danny’s Sri Lankan routes.

People were touched by the gesture and praised him for never forgetting about his mate.

One fan said: “So sweet of him to do that. Rooting for Jay!”

Another added: “As a Tamil I was so shocked to see that tattoo.”

Before entering the villa Jay claimed he “genuinely has what most females want”.

He explained: “I’ve got a good job, I think I am a good looking lad and I have a lot of fun so I feel like I could add a lot of value to their lives if they add a lot of value to mine.”

Hailing from Edinburgh, the fitness buff, who calls his dating history “very unpredictable”, has explained why he decided to go in the villa to find love.

“I think I am at the point in my life where it would be quite fun to find someone and have fun along the way," he said. "And doing it in Mallorca and in the Villa would be a great opportunity, so why not?”

Jay also admitted he’s “not afraid of breaking up a couple" and admitted to being competitive, but he insists he’s supportive too, stating: "I think I am going to be a supportive Islander, I think I am going to bring a lot of fun.

“Hopefully some good laughs along the way and maybe some indecisive decisions.”

He touched upon being indecisive and why that may be a factor in him being single: “I’ve just been very indecisive. I think I am just not one to settle down easily.”

The star is no stranger to having fun and hopes his friends and family agree too: “They would probably describe me as quite unassuming but they’d say I am probably the heart of the party.”
