DEAR DEIDRE: MY boss left me in shock by touching me inappropriately – but it wasn’t the first time he has done this to me.
I am a 26-year-old female and work in a busy call centre.
My boss is in his early fifties. On this latest occasion, I was standing in a doorway when he put his arms around my waist to move me to the side. It scared me.
I was so shocked, I didn’t know what to say. I just froze.
I have a history of childhood abuse, so anything like this is difficult to deal with.
I didn’t do anything about it for a few days and decided to give him benefit of the doubt, but when I saw him I told him he’d really scared me.

He just smiled and denied all knowledge.
I told him to say “excuse me” the next time he wants to get past.
He claims he didn’t know what I was talking about, but did apologise.
He did something similar a few weeks ago.
Now it seems as if he is avoiding me, which speaks volumes.
