A woman had a nasty allergic reaction after getting her first big tattoo.

Leah Jones spoke about the disaster on TikTok – and some believe her body rejected the ink.

Worryingly, the tattoo session caused her skin to go "lumpy" – and she found ink "leaking" from her arm.

"Decided to brave a tattoo on my arm," she said in the video while showing an intricate butterfly and flower design.

"The day after I had my tattoo, it went all lumpy and started leaking so I sent pictures to my doctor."

In the pictures, it's clear some of the ink "popped" up on her skin and created texture.

The skin around the tattoo turned red and this rash spread further around her arm.

"I was given antibiotics. [I was] unable to bend my arm. My hand has now swollen up, not sure whether I could deal with another tattoo after this," Leah added.

Since Leah posted the video, she was flooded with comments – and some people accused her of not taking good care of the tattoo.

But she defended herself.

Leah said: "People think I'm stupid, I've not had it in the sun because I was advised not to.

"I used the same aftercare as my last one, which healed perfectly.

"I've stayed out of the sun like I was advised to by my tattoo artist."

One said: "It happens if you don't get all the leftover ink off properly after you take the cling film, or you're allergic to the wrap they put! Both happened to me."

Another suggested that Leah's body was rejecting the ink.

They added: "Ask your artist what ink they used and if you have other tattoos that didn't do. This is probably the ink or a bad needle."

Two weeks later, Leah gave an update and said the inking had faded but there were still "blotchy bits" visible.

"It looks red but that's because it's still sore, it's pretty, I do like it but I hope it's not that faded."
