My man and I ditched our regular lives to live on a narrowboat… it's rusty and needs loads of work but we love it | The Sun

AN ADVENTUROUS couple have shared a walk-and-talk tour of their narrowboat – and despite it being rusty, they cannot wait to call the 64ft canal boat their new home.

Travel-obsessed couple Julian and Heidi took to TikTok to proudly share a little glimpse of the boat that's now replaced their full-time van life.

According to Heidi, the narrowboat is in a desperate need of renovation, the duration of which the duo is planning to stay on board full-time, she explained in the video.

''The outside needs a lot of work but for now she's liveable,'' Heidi said, adding the couple are looking into adding solar panels on top.

''We really like that we've got a nice, big area at the back because we can host here, we can have a dining table – it's just really, really nice.''

The indoors area, Heidi revealed, had come in its original condition after the couple bought it and some of the surfaces would later be spruced up with easy DIY projects.

''We're just gonna sand it back, paint it and add our own little touch to it because we think it looks really nice.''

As well as replacing the existing curtains with a new set, Heidi and her partner Julian said they'd be ripping out the old flooring – this will be ditched for a more toned-down Dark Chocolate colour flooring.

The top area, too, will be looking brand new, as Heidi revealed that none of the big ''ugly'' lights were working anyway.

''As for the sidewalls, nothing really needs to come down – this is all really good quality wood.

Another item the adventurous duo were looking into getting rid of was the old sofa, which was currently covered with a cream blanket in an attempt to make it look nicer.

In terms of any makeovers in the kitchen, Heidi said they'd opted for a dark khaki colour, as well as a new oven and a gas hob.

She went on: ''We have running water, which is really handy, and at the moment we are just living off of this portable gas hob, which we can cook on.

''Super spacious but lots of work needs to be done.''

Further down in their new 64ft home, the lovely duo had decided to paint the walls white – although this is yet to be complete.

This space, she revealed, would function both as a dining room, as well as a mini office with a stunning table they'd snapped up from Facebook Marketplace.

Carrying on, Heidi then showed her fans the new chic bathroom that had been painted in lush forest green, a dusty pink and tiled with a leafy print.

''It pops with the tiles, we love it. Julian's done such a good job,'' she praised her partner.

The most progress, however, had been made in their bedroom, which boasts a comfy double bed, the new flooring, as well as a pink wall.
