My wife says she can't trust me after she found my stash of vodka and drugs | The Sun

DEAR DEIDRE: EVER since my wife found my stash of vodka and cocaine, she feels she can’t trust me.

We are both 45 and I’ve always suffered with mental health issues.

During lockdown, I was going stir-crazy.

I’m a coach at an athletics club and teach the kids about fitness and keeping themselves healthy but being stuck in our flat drove me insane.

I started drinking heavily until I could hardly get out of bed without a drink from my bedside table.

A mate then told me “a bit of Charlie” would sort me out so I started taking cocaine too.

My wife realised something was wrong when I became incoherent one morning.

She found my stuff and insisted I see our doctor, who made me realise how much my behaviour was affecting everything. I got the help I needed.

My wife won’t forgive me, though. We’re still together but I’ve screwed up. I want my best friend back.
