Prince Albert and Princess Stephanie of Monaco honoured their late parents in a glitzy gala last night – but while Stephanie’s children joined their mother at the event, Albert’s eight-year-old twins and his wife Charlene appeared to be absent.

The Monegasque royals gathered at the Monte Carlo Casino for the Centenary Ball, which paid tribute to the late Prince Ranier III on the 100th year of his birth.

Dressed in sparkles from head to toe Princess Stephanie, her daughter Camille Gottlieb, and daughter-in-law Marie Ducruet, dazzled at the casino.

Louis Ducruet and Prince Albert looked equally smart in black tie – however the premier of Monaco appeared to be flying solo for the evening as his wife of 12 years, Charlene, was not present.

To formally open the ball, Prince Albert and Princess Stephanie shared a sweet moment as they teamed up for a ballroom dance.

Point de Vue reports the 140 exclusive guests at the banquet dined on a six-course menu put together by Richard Rubbini.

The vintage wine had been brought into the event from the cellars of the Hôtel de Paris.

After dinner, guests moved to the after party at the Monte Carlo Opera, a location that had been reportedly kept secret until the night.

As guests danced the evening away, they were serenaded by former X Factor winner, London-based singer Leona Lewis.

During the dinner, a charity auction in which five paintings went under the hammer was held, with the proceeds going to the Fight Aids Monaco association.

As Prince Albert, 65, honoured his late parents at the ball, his wife Princess Charlene, 45, appeared to take the night off.

Charlene’s last public appearance was earlier this month, when she joined her husband and his niece Charlotte Casiraghi, 37, to launch a new boat for Monaco’s maritime police.

The boat they inaugurated, the Saint Georges shuttle, is the latest addition to the police fleet.

Capable of reaching 45 knots, it will be useful for sea rescues and other missions.

The glitzy family event comes after Camille Gottlieb, 25, who is famously private about her love life, finally revealed a glimpse of her boyfriend of a year on Instagram.

The royal often poses with friend and nightclub owner Medy Anthony – who described her as ‘the love of her life’.

But taking to Instagram last week, she revealed she is dating a a different person, as she shared a loved up snap celebrating their anniversary.

Camille, whose father is former palace security guard Jean Raymond Gottlieb, posted a picture of herself kissing the man with the caption: ‘365 days of love. Happy us.’

Camille has still not shared the man’s name. The snap shows them kissing on a boat with the stunning Mediterranean vista in the background.

In the picture, Camille dons neon green swimwear with a cover-up while her tattooed beau sports navy board shorts.
