Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella of Monaco head back to school

Royals on the school run! Princess Charlene and Prince Albert of Monaco take their twins Jacques and Gabriella, 7, to class for their first day back after the summer holiday

  • Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella of Monaco went back to school yesterday
  • The Monaco royal twins, seven, had first day at François d’Assise-Nicolas Barré
  • Accompanied by both their parents Prince Albert, 64, and Princess Charlene, 44

Princess Charlene took her twins to school for their first day back after the summer holidays yesterday morning, after missing on the moment last year due to her health issues.

The Monaco royal, 44, donned a powder pink ensemble as she joined husband Prince Albert, 64, to take Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, seven, to François d’Assise-Nicolas Barré, a private school in Monaco.

The proud mother shared photographs of the snaps on Instagram.

Princess Charlene, 44, wrapped up in a delicate pink number to take Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, seven, back to school to François d’Assise-Nicolas Barré yesterday

The twins wore blue jeans and their school’s official t-shirts and their backpacks for their first day of school

Last year, he brought his children to school alone while Charlene was recovering in her native South Africa after being hospitalised due to complications from a ‘severe ear, nose and throat infection’ she contracted in May 2021.

The couple looked relaxed yesterday as they calmly stood behind their twins, who wore jeans and the school’s official red t-shirt.

Charlene looked typically statuesque in the pink dress, which looked like a shawl elegantly wrapped around her shoulders and descended in discreet pleats to her knees.

She paired the dress with strap open-toe stilettos  and added a touch of bling stud earrings.

Her platinum hair was styled in a sleek bob, which framed her cheekbones and added some sophistication to the outfit.

The mother-of-two sported a natural makeup, with a dash of bronzer adding some sun-kissed glow and a smoky eye.

Gabrielle and Jacques were seen holding hands as they waited to be sent to their class yesterday. Charlene shared photographs on Instagram to mark the occasion

Meanwhile Prince Albert looked relaxed in a blue blaser, a crisp white shirt and grey slack as he stood by her side.

For their big day back at school, twins Jacques and Gabriella both sported blue jeans and François d’Assise’s official red t-shirt, emblazoned with the school’s coat of arms.

The siblings looked as close as ever, holding hands as they wanted for the moment they’d be asked to join their class for a new year of school.

Princess Gabriella, pictured here with her twin brother Prince Jacques, took a pair of scissors to their hair, resulting in these uneven ‘dos

A second pictured shared by Princess Charlene showed Gabriella and Jacques (pictured) gave another glimpse at the pair’s uneven cuts

Gabriella’s new chop was hidden with a hairband for an event on Saturday.  Meanwhile Prince Jacques showed off a much shorter ‘do, with his blonde locks neatened into a short back and sides

While the family looked calm and composed in the pictures, but their weekend was anything but.

Charlene revealed that Gabriella gave her twin brother Jacques and herself matching DIY haircuts – hours before the family were due to attend a high profile royal event on Saturday.

Charlene shared photos of the at-home haircuts on Saturday with the caption: ‘Gabriella gave herself, and her brother a haircut !!! Looking forward to school on Monday…’

The following day, the twins made an appearance alongside their parents, with Jacques given an emergency haircut to remove his sister’s choppy handiwork.

Meanwhile Gabriella was given a pretty hairband to distract from the worst of her uneven locks.

Photos taken of the family attending a large picnic in Monaco at the weekend show the twins’ respective hairstyles looking smarter than in the Instagram snaps.

For the event, Gabriella donned a floral headband, which complemented her printed floral frock, and may also have helped camouflage some of her uneven strands.

Meanwhile Jacque showed off a much shorter do, with his blonde locks cropped into a short back and side.
