SHOPPERS are rushing to buy bargains costing less than £15 to keep warm in colder nights.

Popular new products from a Manchester-based clothing firm have been hailed online, including a £10 wraparound hot water bottle.

A £9 hooded blanket is also among the cut-price buys described on social media as essentials as temperatures plunge.

Britain has been bombarded by torrential rain as well as cold weather in recent days after Storm Ciarán hit, causing chaos and cancellations.

Online Home Buys is now suggesting five ways to keep warm at home for less than £15 apiece – while also keeping down heating bills.

These include what's called a Supersoft Hooded Blanket, a £9 outfit which models have been shown wearing to keep cosy.

The £10 long hot water bottle can be wrapped around your body.

Another option is a fleece duvet cover set costing £8, hailed as "perfect for winter" as well as helping get a good night's sleep.

The company is also recommending a Teddy Fleece Onesie, also £9, which has been labelled an "absolute must for these cold nights".

And a fiver can buy a Teddy Marl Throw, which can be draped over couches, beds and sofa beds to stay warm – while the firm also calls it "handy for camping trips and snuggling".

Other recent shopping tips to keep warm this winter include an Oodie hooded blanket, a discounted electric blanket from Robert Dyas and men's heated socks.

Winter trainers, self-heating scarves, thermals and windproof umbrellas have been touted too.

And there has also been advice about gloves for women, men's dressing gowns, cream jumpers and petite jumpsuits.
