Shoppers are rushing to buy Quality Street tubs for just £3.99 – and they're the cheapest around | The Sun

SHOPPERS are racing to get their hands on Quality Street chocolate tubs which are down to £3.99 in one of the UK’s cheapest supermarkets.

Aldi is selling the Christmas favourite 600g tub of Quality Street chocolates for 11 % off.

This means shoppers can bag the tub for £3.99 instead of the usual £4.50.

The deal was shared on HotDealsUK.com by members this week.

Many shoppers pointed out the deal paled in comparison to last year, mainly due to the size of the tubs being sold.

One user said: “In case anyone was wondering. Last year's price was usually £3.50 for 600g. So it's up a fair bit but not horrendous. Although I'm sure these were £4 last Tuesday in Aldi instore.”

Another said: “The yearly how much have the tubs shrunk comment. At least the promos are still coming in at £4. Maybe some 2 for £7 to come?”

“It's to keep them to a price point. The bigger tubs are still available but few people buy them. At around £5 they're an easy impulse buy,” argued a third shopper.

And it doesn't look like shoppers are making this up.

The Sun did an investigation last year to figure out whether Christmas chocolates have been shrinking over the past decade.

By comparison, Asda is selling the same 600g tub for 50p more at £4.50.
