Rihanna made a surprise appearance at CinemaCon in Las Vegas Thursday, where she announced she will voice the lone lady character in Paramount Animation’s upcoming “The Smurfs Movie.”
Fittingly, the pregnant Bad Gal dressed in head-to-toe blue for the occasion, pairing an over-dyed denim dress and matching over-the-knee boots from Y/Project with roughly 160 carats’ worth of Bayco bling valued at $1.825 million.
Rihanna, 35, shone bright in a show-stopping necklace set with 47.32 carats of blue sapphires and 35.56 carats of colorless diamonds, which she teamed with a matching bracelet featuring 26.40 carats of sapphires and 29.67 carats of diamonds.
The “We Found Love” hitmaker finished her look with a trio of sapphire-and-diamond earrings from the jeweler: a set of studs boasting roughly 15 carats of stones and a single drop earring suspended with a 4.63-carat pear-shaped sapphire.
The newly minted “Smurfs” star even sported a swipe of blue eyeshadow for the occasion.
“I tried to get the Papa Smurf part, but it didn’t work out,” Rihanna joked at CinemaCon.
“Getting to do animation is a fun journey for me. I’m usually front and center with everything with my likeness … but this was fun. I got to imagine, I got to show up in my pajamas in my third trimester and be a blue badass.”
The Grammy winner — who will also write and record original songs for the film, set for a Feb. 14, 2025 release date — is currently expecting her second child with partner A$AP Rocky.
Since confirming she’s got another baby on the way during her Super Bowl halftime show performance in February, Rihanna has continued the stellar maternity style streak she started while pregnant with her firstborn in 2022, stepping out in a series of daring designer looks — all accessorized with a serious dose of diamonds.
