This is the top nail trend being worn in the Love Island villa this winter series

With all the drama caused by Casa Amor still unfolding, you’d be forgiven for not paying particular attention to the Love Island stars’ manicures – but don’t worry, we have been. Last season, there was one main nail trend that the Islanders chose to wear: French nails complete with white tips and opaque pink base shades.

This winter season, however, sees an opposing nail look trend: colour. We’re talking psychedelic swirls, colour block brights and bold nail art – the complete opposite of last year’s understated design choice.

So from Olivia’s colour pop pattern to Farmer Will’s nail art, here are some of the best bright manicures we’ve seen on this Love Island winter season…

Tanya’s sunflower yellow hue

Tanya Manhenga has mostly opted for block colours during her time in the villa, and this sunflower yellow is our favourite of her manicures yet. With a simple square shape and this warm, bold hue, her nails are ready to match or fashionably clash with any outfit.

You can shop a similar shade to the yellow Tanya’s wearing for£3.60 hereat Claire’s.

Olivia’s colourful tips

Olivia Hawkinskicked off the first few weeks in the villa with a very colourful mani, which she chose to match her swimwear. “Olivia wanted nails to match all the bikinis she had brought to the villa, so we chose five different colour combinations, one for each nail,” nail technicianElla Jarvispreviously toldGrazia.

In her own Instagram grid snap of Liv’s nails, Ella writes: “The gorgeous @livhawkinss wearing colourful marble tips.” She then breaks down the colours she used: “All @the_gelbottle_inc. Dune, Miami, Marilyn, Daisy, Lima, Bottega, Bellini, Turners sunset, Violet, Madam, Bolt, Periwinkle and Extreme Shine top coat.”

You can shop those Gel Bottle shades from£7.25 each here.

Sanam’s orange swirls

A late entry to the Love Island 2023 cast, Sanam Harrinanan has only shown off one nail design so far, and we love it. She’s chosen a tangerine orange as the main shade and combined it with white swirls. We also like how she’s kept some nails a block orange colour while other nails feature nail art.

You can shop a similar spring-ready tangerine shade for£7.99 hereat Superdrug.

Will’s bold lilac nail art

Farmer Will, aka Will Young, has impressed us all series long with his farmyard-inspired nail designs. He started with little cow motifs painted over a clear polish, but now he’s worked up to something a little bolder. We spotted his lilac nails during movie night, and we think it’s a perfect colour choice for his skin tone. Extra points go to Will for keeping two little animal designs on his middle nails.

You can shop a similar lilac shade for£8.95 hereat Superdrug.
