‘We got my baby daughter’s ears pierced with diamond earrings – she looks lovely’, says Frankie Essex

Former TOWIE star Frankie Essex gave birth to her twins, whom she shares with boyfriend Luke Love, in May and has since revealed to the world that they’ve named their little bundles of joy Logan and Luella.

In her exclusive column for OK!, Frankie’s discussed a range of topics in regards to motherhood – from her first social outing with the twins and a blackout at her home when they were just a few days old, to “feeling more human again” as the babies drop their dreaded 2am feed.

This week, Frankie opens up about the twins having conjunctivitis, feeling “drunk” from fatigue, and getting Luella’s ears pierced…

Both the twins have had conjunctivitis

It’s been a mad week. Both the babies have been really poorly, they’ve both got conjunctivitis and me and Luke have been poorly as well. I’ve literally been up all night every night with the babies, apart from last night. Logan woke up at 4am yesterday morning, and Luella had only fallen asleep at 3:30am.

I was literally like a zombie yesterday. I was doing loads of things wrong like dropping coffee on the floor and putting milk in Luke’s coffee when he doesn’t have milk. I was so tired I felt drunk and delirious. It was a lot!

The twins have been poorly before, but not like this. Their eyes are so itchy, and I think I had a bit of it. Logan’s has really cleared up but Luella had it in one eye, and it’s spread to the other.

I put it on my Instagram about Logan having it and so many people started messaging me with tips. They said to use milk, to use warm water, water with salt in it; all these little tips and tricks. I’ve been doing as much as I can, and I’ve been using Dettol on their toys as well to keep them clean.

We got Luella’s ears pierced!

On Monday we went to Bluewater, a shopping centre in Kent, and we got Luella’s ears pierced. I said to Luke that I really wanted for her to get them done while she’s little, but you have to wait for them to have their third set of vaccinations and now she’s all up to date.

We booked in at Claire’s Accessories, and she’s got diamond earrings. Luella had them both done at the same time as there were two ladies in there, and they literally sat her down on my lap as I supported her head so that it was nice and straight. Then they drew little dots on her ears and levelled it up, then they just put the guns to her ears and were like… one, two, three, bam. It was such a good idea to do them at the same time.

Luella cried, but then I put a dummy in her mouth and she was laughing. She was absolutely fine, and then she forgot about it.

She looks so lovely and Luke thinks she looks really different. She has real diamonds in and she’s only six months old! She’s definitely my child…

I don’t know if I’m going to get stick for getting them done because a lot of people have opinions about that, but if she didn’t get them done now, she would probably have to wait until she was a teenager. Just getting it done now means it’s done, plus if she doesn’t like them when she’s older, she can take them out.

Logan leg update

Logan’s leg is absolutely fine now and it’s starting to scar. The scar’s starting to form because it was a scab before, meaning it’s healing fine and it hasn’t been bothering him at all.

It’s always the boys who get ill, isn’t it?! I think Logan likes the attention…

We’ve had to push back our kitchen installation

We were meant to have the kitchen fitted on Monday but I put that to a stop because the plaster wasn’t dry, and it all felt a bit rushed. I said to Luke, ‘Look, we’ve waited this long, let's just wait a minute’.

We’ve got the kitchen and it’s actually in the house boxed up in one of the other rooms, but I wanted the plaster to dry and to paint the whole room white before it’s properly fitted in.

The man who’s doing it all for us is able to come back and do it in early January, so that’s the plan now.
