Who is Molly Marsh? Love Island star’s life and soap star mum as she joins show

As Love Island fans gear up for the Summer edition of the show, a host of hopefuls who are looking to find love in the Mallorcan villa have already been announced.

Among them is Molly Marsh, 21, who is a social media creator and actress, excited to find her Prince Charming.

Performing and being on stage runs in the family, as Molly's mum Janet has appeared on screen in soaps including Coronation Street and also been in the short film Cerulean.

Speaking about making her way into the villa, Molly revealed that she is 'quite old fashioned' when it comes to love and told ITV: "I think it’s ideal timing and the perfect way to find someone.'

Molly, who is from Doncaster, has already amassed a huge following on Instagram, with more than 42,000 followers, and the number is set to climb as she heads into the villa and joins her fellow singletons.

While the beauty has not been on Love Island before, as she works in social media, she has previously mingled with stars of the show including Molly-Mae Hague in October 2021 at a Beauty Works event.

She has also hit the town with other famous faces from the reality series such as Maura Higgins and Siannese Fudge.

Alongside pictures of the star mingling with former Love Islanders on her Instagram are a plethora of images of the villa and her posing in skimpy bikinis.

She also favours quirky outfits and big sunglasses and recently enjoyed a trip to Disneyland Paris with her younger sister.

Molly was given the opportunity to look around the Love Island villas due to her social media following, with her most recent trip in January, where she is said to have impressed bosses.

She told ITV: "With my job being in social media, I’ve had some amazing opportunities to go on press trips and I’ve actually been out to the Love Island Villas in Mallorca and South Africa.

"Having the experience to walk around both was amazing but to now actually live in the Villa is going to be incredible."

The actress lives on a farm with her mum, dad, father and sister and more members of their extended family including her cousin and cousin's husband.

Molly is one of 10 Love Islanders who have so far been announced as going on the show. Others who are heading out to the villa so far are: Andre Furtado, business owner, Jess Harding, business owner, Mitchel Taylor, gas engineer and Catherine Agbaje, real estate agent.

Also hoping to find love is: George Fensom, business development executive, Ruchee Gurung, beautician, Ella Thomas, supermodel, Tyrique Hyde, semi-professional footballer and Medhi Edno, a French model.

Love Island will start on Monday, June 5, on ITV 2 at 9pm and will run from Sunday to Friday for eight weeks, with a highlights episode on Saturdays.
