A woman who adopted a dog that Leonardo DiCaprio and Camila Morrone were fostering has opened up about the mortifying moment she asked the model if the actor was her dad.

Neda Mazd, from Los Angeles, California, wanted to expand her family by adopting a new dog at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic – so she went on the hunt for the perfect pup.

However, Neda didn’t realized who they were until after she left – and to her horror, she actually mistook Camila, 25, and Leo, 48, for father and daughter rather than girlfriend and boyfriend.

She opened up about the awkward encounter in a recent TikTok video shared to her friend, Izza Roze’s account, and the hilarious moment left many people on the web in shambles.

To Neda’s horror, she actually mistook Camila, 25, and Leo, 48, (seen in 2018) for father and daughter rather than girlfriend and boyfriend.

According to Neda, as soon as she arrived at Leo and Camila’s home in Beverly Hills, she noticed something was off – but it still didn’t occur to her that they were celebrities.

Neda says that she spotted signs of wealth as soon as she entered the high-security estate where the pair were living – including serious security and bags from luxury grocery store Erewhon.

‘There was security guards everywhere,’ she explained. ‘They had Teslas everywhere, Erewhon bags everywhere, it was super bougie. There was a tennis court, a full water fountain in the swimming pool.’

Neda said a ‘super young girl’ greeted her and brought her in to see the two dogs. And as she watched the pups play, she noticed a ‘dude’ hanging out in the ‘back yard,’ who she falsely assumed was Camila’s dad.

‘There’s this guy with a dad bod and a cap on, he looks like he’s 45-50,’ she continued.

‘He was obviously trying to be inconspicuous, and I look at him, and I’m like, “Oh is that your dad?” to the girl.

‘And she looked at me weirdly and was like, “No, that’s my boyfriend.” I was like, “Oh.”‘

Neda said she decided to move forward with the adoption, and took Jack home with her.

She then started researching who Camila was – and was completely shocked to discover that she was a successful model and actress, and that the man she had mistaken for her father was actually the Titanic alum.

‘I was like, “Who is this girl?” So I go to look her up and she has a verified check and two million Instagram followers,’ Neda explained. ‘She’s a model, influencer, all this stuff. I’m like, “What?”

‘I look up who her boyfriend is and it’s Leonardo DiCaprio, and I’m like, “That was the dude in the backyard, who I thought was her father.” It was really hilarious.’

Camila and Leo ultimately decided to adopt Jack’s sister, who they named Sally, and Neda said she would have ‘doggy playdates’ with Camila every once in a while – however, she never saw Leo again.

Camila and Leo started dating in December 2017 and were together for four years – before they split in August 2022.

The actress revealed via Instagram in March 2020 that she and the star were fostering two husky puppies.

At the time, she gushed on Instagram, ‘Fostering a puppy during this quarantine time has been the single best decision.

‘For all my friends showing interest in doing this, DO IT. You won’t regret it. These sweet creatures need you so badly.’

A month later, in April 2020, she confirmed that she had adopted one of dogs.

‘This quarantine has taught me many things in a short time. I had forgotten the joy and love an animal can bring into your life,’ she wrote at the time.

‘Rescuing (and adopting) this pup has filled my heart endlessly. If you have the time, finances, and capability of saving, or even temporarily housing an animal during this crazy time, I really recommend it. You won’t regret it.’
