    Nunez tipped for Liverpool transfer

Benfica striker Darwin Nunez has been tipped to pick Liverpool over Man United by Glen Johnson.

Johnson told BettingOdds: “You’d think Núñez would head to Anfield if it’s between Liverpool and Manchester United. As we know, Manchester United don’t have the same pulling power they once did.

“There was a time when Manchester United came calling then the answer was ‘yes’. That’s not the case at the moment, so if Liverpool and Manchester United are going head to head for him then I’m sure he’d pick Liverpool over United.

“If Liverpool are to pay the £100 million that Benfica supposedly want for him, then that’s against their structure and the way they do business, but that’s the way the game is going.

” If they don’t start opening up to that, then others will capitalise on that. I do like the way Liverpool do their business, but they need to be a bit flexible with it because the other big guns will be willing to pay it, whether it’s against their protocols or not.”

Arsenal are also in the race for Nunez.

“It’s clear who the media has bias to and that’s been the story since day one.”

One of the targets the Reds would like to replace Mane with is highly rated Benfica forward Darwin Nunez.

Arsenal and Man United are also keen on the striker.

The Spanish giants – along with neighbours Atletico – have been alerted to the Brazilian’s situation at Manchester City.

And the European champions are on the look-out for a new forward after their hopes of landing Kylian Mbappe were dashed.

Meanwhile, Napoli have reportedly made an enquiry for Arsenal centre-back William Saliba.

Italian journalist Gianluca Longari has stated that the Italian side have approached Arsenal over Saliba.

They state that the youngster is appreciated by the Naples outfit, but they are aware that he would prove to be expensive should they wish to secure his services.

And finally, Arsenal have joined the bidding war for Sassuolo star Gianluca Scamacca, reports suggest.

That is according to Calciomercato, who report that the Gunners have submitted a £30m offer for Scamacca.

However, the North Londoners are facing fierce competition from Inter Milan who have had an informal agreement with the striker for some time now.

    Arsenal to target Richarlison?

Arsenal could look to bring Everton striker Richarlison to the Emirates due to chief Edu's Brazilian connections.

That is according to transfer guru Pete O'Rourke.

He told GiveMeSport: "I think having these Brazilian connections can only help in their pursuit of transfer targets.

"Edu, I’m sure will be trying to use his connections to maybe try and convince Richarlison to make that move to Arsenal ahead of other clubs because there will be quite a bit of interest in him this summer.

“Any advantage that you can use to try and win the race for a transfer signature, I think Edu will use his connections.”

Cascarino states Jesus would be No1 striker

Former Chelsea ace Tony Cascarino believes Gabriel Jesus would start ahead of Eddie Nketiah should he make the move to Arsenal.

The talkSPORT pundit said: "He (Jesus) will be number one.But the lad (Nketiah) has shown enough and he is still young enough.

“Imagine if Eddie Nketiah improved again? Which I imagine he would. Then, he would become a player that is going to be good enough along the line.

“He’s not ready quite yet. But if you see an improvement this pre-season and going into next year, then he might be even better.

“If Gabriel Jesus comes in and he doesn’t do as well as expected, and then Nketiah gets the opportunity and takes them, then it’s putting pressure. I think it’s a great thing for Arsenal to have.”

Uefa eye legal action against Madrid, Barca and Juve

UEFA chiefs are confident they will be cleared to take action against the remaining Super League rebels after a landmark legal case next month.

The European Court of Justice has announced it has scheduled a two-day hearing for the case accusing Uefa of “abuse of a dominant position” by blocking the creation of the breakaway competition.

Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus were backed by the Spanish capital’s “Mercantile Court” in what was seen by Uefa bosses as an “in-house” ruling.

That court’s judgement that Uefa had no right to impose any punishment on the three rebels was subsequently overturned by a higher court in Spain.

Uefa, though, made clear it would await the outcome of the trio’s ECJ case, which will now be heard in Luxembourg on July 11 and 12, before taking its next steps.

And with Judges indicating they will give an “expedited” verdict, Uefa’s Nyon hierarchy expect to get a legal win and the green light to go after the three clubs in a matter of weeks.

    Tammy eyeing Kane's England spot

Tammy Abraham is ready to push skipper Harry Kane for his England place – amid links to Arsenal and Liverpool.

Abraham said: “I think for every player that’s the mentality you’re supposed to have — to be positive.

“Of course, we are all buzzing for Harry, we want him to smash the record and we’re always here to support him.

“Whenever I’m given a chance if I’m on a pitch with him, I’ll try and help him to get to his targets.

“But for me, it’s all about whenever you get the opportunity, to just try and grab it with two hands and just show what you are made of.”

Emile Smith Rowe says England starlets cannot be too upset if they find themselves back in the Under-21s due to competition for places.

The Arsenal midfielder has won three senior caps but was selected for the Young Lions this month.

He said: “No matter who I play for, I want to give my all for the team. I just like to work hard for everyone.

“It’s been a difficult end to the season back at my club so it’s important for me to come here and give my all for the team and try to enjoy it as much as I can.

“The seniors has a lot of depth and a lot of quality. I’ve just got to keep working hard and see what happens.

“It’s important to stay level-headed. You’ve got to stay humble and don’t get too upset if you don’t go to the first-team."

Transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio has revealed Gabriel Jesus would be perfect at Arsenal but that no Champions League football could be an issue.

He told wettfreunde: "I understand Gabriel Jesus wants to play more, wants to stay in a team that wants to have him as an important striker of the team.

"And Man City will have to sell players because they have to buy other players.

"If I have to choose for him, Arsenal would be perfect because Arsenal has a new project. They need to have a striker like him.

"They're not playing the Champions League so this could be a problem for Gabriel Jesus.

    Marseille ready to sell Kolasinac

Marseille are reportedly looking to offload former Arsenal left-back Sead Kolasinac just months after joining the Ligue 1 outfit.
