Arsenal 'set to launch Arthur transfer bid despite Youri Tielemans interest with midfielder out of Juventus plans' | The Sun

ARSENAL are reportedly set to launch a bid for Juventus ace Arthur Melo.

That’s despite retaining interest in Leicester star Youri Tielemans.

Rudy Galetti claims Mikel Arteta wants a new midfielder this summer.

And long-term target Arthur could now be on the verge of moving to the Emirates.

Arsenal failed in an attempt to sign him on loan in January.

But with the Brazilian now out of Juventus’ plans following Paul Pogba’s return, a fresh Gunners bid is imminent.

Arthur cost Juventus nearly £70million PLUS Miralem Pjanic when he joined from Barcelona just two years ago.

However, Juve are unlikely to command a huge fee after he scored just one goal in 63 games for them.

Should Arsenal make a formal bid for Arthur, it would likely end their interest in Tielemans.

The Belgian has been holding out for a London switch after telling Leicester he wants a move.

Erik ten Hag is still hoping to convince Frenkie de Jong to ditch Barcelona for Old Trafford.

But Tielemans is seen as an option for United’s technical No6 role.
