Arsenal ‘set to sell Thomas Partey in January’ as three-man transfer wishlist is revealed | The Sun

ARSENAL are prepared to sell Thomas Partey in January in a bid to raise transfer funds, according to reports.

Mikel Arteta is eager to add to his squad as he looks to lead the Gunners to their first Premier League title in 20 years.

Signing a new midfielder is the Spaniard's main priority, with a forward also on his transfer wishlist.

But in order to make new additions, some current Arsenal stars will have to be sold.

And ESPN claim that Partey could be set for a move away.

The midfielder has been limited to just four Premier League appearances this season due to injury.

He is not expected to return to action until January, but Arsenal will likely miss him for another month while he joins up with the Ghana squad for the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Gunners were open to selling Partey following the arrival of Declan Rice in July.

However, they did not receive a suitable bid before deadline day.

Juventus are now understood to be interested in signing him.

Club officials reportedly held talks with the 30-year-old's representatives last month.

Arteta's top midfield target is currently Aston Villa's Douglas Luiz.

Arsenal attempted to sign him last summer, but had two late bids rejected on deadline day.

The Gunners are also interested in signing Wolves winger Pedro Neto, who is reportedly valued at £60m.

Meanwhile, Ivan Toney remains a top transfer target.

Toney will return to action next month after completing his ban for breaching FA betting rules.

Brentford are set to demand a huge fee for the striker, but manager Thomas Frank is confident that he will remain at the Gtech Community Stadium.
