Arsenal star could quit for FREE as agent admits contract talks ‘at a standstill’ with transfer future up in the air | The Sun

ARSENAL midfielder Jorginho's future remains uncertain after his agent confirmed contract talks are at a "standstill".

The Gunners signed the Italy international, 31, on Deadline Day back in January for £12million from London rivals Chelsea.

He penned an 18-month deal with the club and has gone on to make 30 appearances for Mikel Arteta's side.

However, the short contract means he is already set to become a free agent at the end of the season.

And agent Joao Santos has now revealed there has been no progress when it comes to extending his stay, although Jorginho is keen to do so.

Speaking to TUTTOmercatoWEB, he said: "Everything is at a standstill.

"We’ll think about it after February. However, the priority remains Arsenal."

Jorginho has started just four of Arsenal's 12 Premier League games so far this season.

He was brought in as cover for Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey, but has found himself somewhat out in the cold since the arrival of Declan Rice.

Jorginho also came under fire after the North London derby in September.
