Arsenal ‘submit £30m bid for in-demand Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca amid Inter Milan transfer interest’

ARSENAL have joined the bidding war for Sassuolo star Gianluca Scamacca, reports suggest.

That is according to Calciomercato, who report that the Gunners have submitted a £30m offer for Scamacca.

However, the North Londoners are facing fierce competition from Inter Milan who have had an informal agreement with the striker for some time now.

However, a move for the Italy international has stalled as the Nerazzurri have turned their attentions on departing Juventus star Paulo Dybala and Chelsea ace Romelu Lukaku.

Dybala will be a free agent once his Juve contract expires on June 30 whereas Lukaku is reportedly keen to return to the San Siro after a hapless comeback at Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal are looking to take advantage of Inter's distraction and have leapt in with an offer for Scamacca.

But it has been claimed that the Premier League giants' bid is not enough to convince Sassuolo president Giovanni Carnevali as he is holding out for at least£34m plus add-ons.

Scamacca has turned a lot of heads following an impressive Serie A campaign that also earned him interest from AC Milan, Napoli and Newcastle.

The Italian amassed a total of 16 goals and one assist in 38 appearances across all competitions this term.

The 23-year-old was so impressive that he's been touted as Italy's next leading striker after some inconsistent performances by Lazio star Ciro Immobile.
