      Mbappe to Arsenal 'extremely unlikley'

Former Arsenal star Alan Smith does not think a move for Kylian Mbappe is likely to happen.

He told GamblingZone: "I would think that the chances of Mbappe joining Arsenal are extremely unlikely.

"The money that it would take to sign him would be astronomical. I think the only place he can go is Real Madrid. I think that’s the only place and that is probably the place that he wants to go as well.

"Financially, we know the club is run really well. I think Arsenal would be very conscious of the wage structure they have in place, which needs to be tightly controlled.

"I would be very surprised if they were to smash that with the signing of Mbappe, as great as it would be to have him because he is one of the best players in the world. I don’t think it’s very likely."

      Partey backed for United move

Dwight Yorke has suggested that Arsenal star Thomas Partey would be a good signing for Manchester United.

Yorke was speaking to BoyleSports who offer the latest Premier League odds here: "Thomas Partey wouldn't be a bad signing for Man United. But it depends on whether Mikel Arteta changes his formation to 4-2-3-1 where he has two defensive midfielders where both Declan Rice and Partey can play together.

"Having a player like Partey makes Man United or Arsenal more adaptable because they can play different positions with his qualities.

"The whole point in a tactical approach is that we don't know what the opposing manager has planned before the game or season, so Arteta might figure a way out to play both Rice and Partey.

"The competition is healthy for the squad, you need players competing with each other every day in training and it builds a hunger in the team."

Partey is currently with the team ahead of their pre-season training camp in Germany.

Mbappe 'should move no matter what'

PSG sporting director Leonardo has suggested that Arsenal target Kylian Mbappe should leave the club no matter what and the club will continue without him.

PSG existed before Mbappe and it will exist after him.

      Tierney told to leave

Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney has been told to leave the club this summer by former Scottish international Kenny Miller.

I think he probably needs to now.

When he plays, he's a world class left-back. To play regular football, he probably needs to step away from Arsenal.

There will be lots and lots of teams that will take it. He'll have loads of potential suitors.

If he moves, he'll have a number of options. If he's not going to be getting a game, he's too good to sitting as part of a squad.

Despite Joao Cancelo being 'appreciated' by Arsenal, don't expect the Gunners to make a move for the Man City star.

Fabrizio Romano believes now Mikel Arteta's side are on the verge of announcing Jurrien Timber, they will be covered at right-back.

Romano told GIVEMESPORT: “Arsenal have always monitored them [Cancelo and Henrichs]. We always mentioned Cancelo as a player appreciated by Arsenal.

“But, at the moment, I think with Timber, their idea is to cover the right-back and centre-back positions. He’s a very versatile player that Mikel Arteta loves to have in the squad. So, this is the idea.”
