Arsenal transfer target Jurrien Timber, 22, still shares a BEDROOM with his twin brother who plays for fiercest rivals | The Sun

POTENTIAL Arsenal new boy Jurrien Timber still shares a bedroom with his twin brother – despite him playing for a fierce rival.

We revealed yesterday how the 22-year-old defender has agreed to join the Gunners from Ajax.

Arsenal have been pushing to sign the Dutchman since the transfer window opened.

They submitted an offer worth £30m, but it was turned down by Ajax and they are now ready to launch a second this week.

Mikel Arteta’s team have already agreed personal terms with Timber, who has his heart set on a move to the Emirates Stadium.

The Eredivisie giants set an asking price of £50m for Timber, but Arsenal are convinced that they will be able to negotiate a smaller fee.

And now they hope to get the transfer wrapped up over the coming to help bolster the squad ahead of the 2023/24 Premier League campaign.

However, the move will see about a number of major changes to his life off the pitch as he prepares to move to a new country – including no longer sharing a bedroom with his twin.

His brother Quinten is a midfielder who recently helped Feyenoord pip Ajax to the Eredivisie title.

And the pair revealed to the NY Times back in March that they still share the bedroom that they have had since childhood at their mum’s.

With both planning to move out this summer, Quinten said: “We’ve lived together our whole lives. It will be weird.”

Although football talk has not been banned since Quinten’s move to Feyenoord last year, they both know that the other will not divulge any potential sensitive details about their respective clubs to each other.

“Giving details would be dangerous,” Jurrien said. “But it’s interesting how it goes at the different clubs, how they think, how we think.”

And at the start of the season they did make one promise to each other as their teams prepared to battle it out for the title.

Jurrien said: “We said it would be me or him. Not PSV Eindhoven or AZ Alkmaar or anyone like that.”

Now the pair could potentially come face-to-face in the Champions League this season should Arsenal get their man.

That bedroom revelation comes after former Real Madrid hardman Pepe let slip that he slept in bed with his mum until he was 17 – much to the annoyance of his dad.
