DAVID ALABA has taken a dig at Manchester United and claimed “world-class” Ralf Rangnick had no time to make an impact there.
The German coach, 63, joined the Red Devils as interim manager in November and was then due to step up to a consultancy role this summer.
Despite arriving with a huge pedigree and reputation, United could only limp to a sixth place finish in the Premier League following early exits in both the FA Cup and Champions League.
After the disappointing end to the campaign, it was then mutually agreed that Rangnick would cut all ties with Old Trafford after Erik ten Hag was appointed manager.
He has now landed himself the Austria national team job and took charge last month.
Even though not many players or supporters were that sad to see Rangnick depart, Real Madrid defender Alaba insists that United have suffered a huge loss.

The Austrian star is now working with Rangnick at international level and he has already been impressed by what he has seen.
The 29-year-old, who is still celebrating Madrid’s Champions League success, told The Athletic: “He has been really good, you can see we have a really good plan and you can see it works for us on the pitch.
“He doesn’t want us to let the opponents breathe air. It is good for us. I have known Ralf since I was 18 years old and he is a world-class coach.
“What he did in the past is something special and now I am seeing it close up. He showed what he can do at Leipzig, Salzburg and Hoffenheim.

Rangnick's first game in charge of Austria resulted in a 3-0 win in Croatia last week in the Nations League.
They then slipped to a 2-1 home defeat to Denmark on Monday – a match Alaba started.
