Haaland blasts it over!

City are awarded a penalty for a handball in the area!

Upemancano starts with his hands behind his back as Rodri whips a ball forwards, but he moves them as the ball comes in and it does flick his arm.

Haaland steps up to take…

After an early storm form Bayern City are beginning to get on the ball a bit more.

Silva shows off some fantastic feet on the right wing and crosses well for Grealish, who eventually works it back for Ake.

The defender hits it well from the edge of the box but it flies wide for a goal kick.

Sane hits a good knuckleball free kick from outside the area and for a second Ederson looks in trouble.

The ball dips and moves away from the keeper, but he watched it well and makes a good save.

Bayern are keeping the pressure up, with Coman in particular causing the visitors problems.

Goretzka has a couple of attempts from distance but mishits them both badly.

Frantic couple of minutes in Munich.

Upemacano is shown a red card after a last man tackle on Haaland, who had broken on Bayern and was through on goal.

The striker is then judged to be offside, meaning the red card is overturned!

It’s just heating up now with some words between the players. Tuchel continues to shout after the overturned red card and is booked.

Lovely run from Sane against his former side.

He’s too quick for the City defence and has a clear shot at goal from the left of the box after a typically explosive run.

Ederson makes himself big, and Sane goes for the dink but puts it wide.

Big let off for the visitors.

The fullback lunges in on Bernardo Silva and is booked after just 11 minutes.

Not a particularly friendly start from Cancelo against his former side, and he’ll have to be careful now.

City get caught out slightly as Coman breaks down the right.

He whips in another good ball but it’s not just two high for Choupo-Moting in the middle.

The Frenchman whips in another cross along the crowd shortly afterwards but Dias does well to flick it away from his teammates in the middle.

Coman has started really well and City are under a little pressure already.

That didn’t take long.

De Bruyne goes down after a clash with De Ligt and the Bayern boss really isn’t happy about something.

He’s not booked yet but something to keep an eye on.

Coman whips a good ball into the boss but it’s well dealt with by John Stones.

It comes from the first real attack of the games with both teams playing fairly cautiously in the opening exchanges.

City are being selective with their pressing but have already put Sommer under pressure.

We’re underway in Munich!

There’s a short delay due to a communications issue that’s just built a bit of tension in the stadium.

The home side kick off first in a game that could define both sides’ seasons

We’re closing in on kick off at the Allianz.

It looks like a straightforward night for Man City on paper, but European nights don’t often work out like that.

The home crowd will be willing their side towards an upset.

The Norwegian striker was excellent at the Etihad last week.

An early goal from him this evening would surely put the tie to bed.

It’s a huge evening for the home side today.

If they can find a way to overturn the three goal deficit, it could put a stop-start season back on track.

Despite their success in the last decade, a lot of football fans seem keen to set themselves against the English champions.

Sportsmail’s Simon Jordan explains why we should cherish them.

After a mixed career that has seen the striker play everywhere from the Parc des Princes to the Bet 365 Arena, Choupo-Moting appears to have found his feet at Bayern.

He has scored four goals in six Champions League appearances this season.

It’s a rainy day in Bavaria but some hardy fans have arrived early.

Anything better than a disaster should make for a famous European night from a Cityzens perspective.

Man City have a history of odd decsisons at big moments in this tournament, but surely they won’t blow it in Bavaria tonight.

Adam Shergold takes a look at their recent European history.

Sadio Mane will not be starting this evening, although he does make the bench.

Former Stoke striker Choupo-Moting starts up front.

Manchester City come into the game with a 3-0 lead from the first leg, and appear to be in ominous form after winning their last 10 games across all competitions.

For Bayern, the hill is somewhat steeper. Not only are they long way behind in the tie, they are also still adjusting to their new manager Thomas Tuchel and have won just once in their last four games.

They have the added stress of Sadio Mane punching Leroy Sane after the last game. The former Liverpool forward was banned for their last game against Hoffenheim following the incident, but has trained with the squad ahead of tonight’s game and will be hoping for a return to the side.

No funky selections from Guardiola as he picks a predictably strong side.

Erling Haaland recently equaled the record for the most goals in a 38 game Premier League season after just 28 appearances.
