Pressure on PSG manager to succeed

Christophe Galtier, as with any PSG manager, will come under intense scrutiny if the French side were to exit the competition at the ‘round of 16’ stage.

With the wealth and quality at their disposal, European domination is the main focus for PSG and anything short of this is seen as unacceptable.

To do this, they will need to overturn a 1-0 deficit from the first leg in Paris.

    Welcome to Bayern vs PSG

Bayern Munich welcome PSG to the Allianz Arena this evening with Christophe Galtier’s position as manager under threat as they face an early exit from the Champions League.

Banjamin Pavard will miss this evening’s game after the Frenchman was sent off late one in the reverse leg, meaning he will be serving a one-match suspension leaving Bayern in predicament as Lucas Hernandez continues his recovery from an ACL injury.

Whether Julian Nagelsmann will revert to a back three remains to be seen, Josip Stanisic could line up alongside Dayot Upamecano and Matthijs de Ligt after the three started in their recent win over Stuttgart.

Manuel Neuer and Noussair Mazraoui are keeping Hernandez company in the treatment room.

Sadio Mane has been plagued with injury since making the move from Liverpool, he did however appear against Stuttgart from the bench but the manager has told him he has to fight for a place in the first team.

Thomas Muller, Leyroy Sane and Jamal Musiala are likely to start in the final third for the German champions.

PSG announced that Neymar will miss the rest of the season as he prepares to undergo ankle surgery, while Presnel Kimpembe is also out long term but Renato Sanches has recovered from a hamstring injury and will be in the squad tonight.

Marco Verratti is back from a domestic ban and will no doubt come in for Warren Zaire-Emery in spite of an impressive display in the first leg.

Achraf Hakimi has recovered from a thigh injury and is available for selection despite serious charges hanging over his head on a personal nature, of which the player denies, his leaving the country was allowed by French authorities.
