LIFE’S a Beach for trainer Jane Chapple-Hyam.
Her stable star Saffron Beach bagged a second Group 1 with a brave front-running win in the Prix Rothschild at Deauville.
The likeable filly ran out a wide-margin winner of the Duke Of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot back in June.
And she followed that up with an even better performance under a perfectly-judged ride from William Buick.
The four-year-old had a target on her back throughout and looked like being swamped as the pack closed up with around three furlongs to race.
But top jockey Buick had kept something up his sleeve and when he asked Saffron Beach for maximum effort she picked up and went clear again inside the final 100 yards.

Aidan O’Brien’s Tenebrism, who was getting 7lb from the winner, ran on to grab second ahead of Goldistyle in third.
Newmarket-based Chapple-Hyam will give Saffron Beach two more runs in Europe before she heads across the pond in November for a crack at the Breeders’ Cup.
Chapple-Hyam grinned: “She is very brave and very tenacious, she was probably better today than she was at Royal Ascot.
“They came to challenge her and she fought them off which was amazing to see, she has such a great attitude.

“We were giving the three-year-olds seven pounds and she has beaten them convincingly, so that was a great effort.
“She is the Matron Stakes at Leopardstown and Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket, so provided things go well there we will go to the Breeders’ Cup.
"As a younger horse she always had a travelling companion in the horse box with her and now since Dubai she's grown up. She can travel on her own now which makes the job easier for me.
“The Filly and Mare Turf looks made for her. I’m very grateful to have a filly like her, it’s great for the yard.”
Coral trimmed her into 8-1 from 11s for the Filly and Mare Turf, which will be held at Keeneland on November 5.
Saffron Beach could be in line for a showdown with the likes of Inspiral (4-1), Nashwa (9-2) or Emily Upjohn (6-1) in the £1.6 million race in the Autumn.
