SunSport revealed in April that Manchester United were interested in Edwards.

We also told you that Aston Villa and Southampton fancied a summer swoop for the centre-back, who could cost more than £10million.

But it’s now reckoned Chelsea and Spurs are leading the race.

The Blues have already splashed out on several youngsters including Aston Villa’s Carney Chukwuemeka and goalie Gabriel Slonina.
