Chelsea can land transfer target Borna Sosa for £21m as defender has pact with skint Stuttgart | The Sun

CHELSEA can secure Stuttgart defender Borna Sosa for £21million this summer, according to reports.

The Blues have already seen Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen depart since the end of the season.

Club captain Cesar Azpilicueta is also being linked with a move to Barcelona.

And left-back Marcos Alonso has reportedly told the club he wants to leave Stamford Bridge.

The loss of Alonso would leave Chelsea short in the left-back position, with Ben Chilwell still recovering from a serious cruciate ligament injury.

And Sosa, 24, could plug that gap as he has shown the ability to play at left-back and left wingback.

The Croatian has made 83 appearances for Stuttgart since joining from Dinamo Zagreb in 2018.

Across that spell, he has scored three goals and provided an impressive 23 assists.

He has also been capped six times for the Croatian national team.

According to Heidenheimer Zeitung, Stuttgart have "assured" Sosa that he will be allowed to leave this summer.

And the Bundesliga outfit are willing to accept a bid of £21m.

No concrete bid has yet been submitted by Thomas Tuchel's side, although they are thought to be open to spending up to £24m for the Stuttgart man.

But Sosa is not the only defender Chelsea have been linked with so far this summer.

The Blues are also reportedly interested in Juventus centre-back Matthijs de Ligt, Sevilla man Jules Kounde, and Lens right-back Jonathan Clauss.
