Chelsea in Anthony Gordon transfer blow as Frank Lampard claims Everton's deadline to sell £60m star has PASSED | The Sun

EVERTON manager Frank Lampard has slammed the door shut on any potential move Chelsea could make for his star man Anthony Gordon.

The Chelsea legend has stood firm in his stance that Gordon, 21, is not for sale.

Lampard said his former club would have to cough up over £100million if Everton were to part ways with the player.

And now the Toffees boss claims it's too late to strike any deal for Gordon with just a day left to go in the transfer window.

Speaking after Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Leeds, a game which Gordon scored the opening goal, Lampard said: "I’m very confident he’ll be our player [after the transfer window closes].

"The deadline to decide to sell him has passed.

“He’s too important a player. He’s shown his worth.

"What good would it do us to do anything with Anthony now?

"In the bigger picture, he has an affiliation with the fans. It is a process, can we build around that?

"The interest in him is because he is a top player and why we are so keen to keep him.
