Chelsea to find out this week if Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang transfer will go through as Tuchel targets Werner replacement | The Sun

CHELSEA will reportedly find out this week if they are able to sign former Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona.

Thomas Tuchel is on the hunt for a new forward as Timo Werner prepares to rejoin RB Leipzig.

And Barca striker Aubameyang, who only left Chelsea’s rivals Arsenal in January, is at the top of Tuchel’s list.

The pair worked together successfully at Borussia Dortmund.

And the Telegraph claims Chelsea are hopeful of striking a deal this week.

Barca have made both Aubameyang and fellow forward Memphis Depay available for transfer.

And the coming week will prove crucial for Chelsea, who are aware of Juventus’ interest in ex-Man Utd flop Depay.

The Blues will be hoping their rocky relationship with Barcelona doesn’t affect things after the Catalans landed several of Tuchel’s targets including Raphinha and Jules Kounde.

Chelsea also managed to keep captain Cesar Azpilicueta out of their grasp despite a deal appearing to be done.
