Chelsea's transfer activity depends on Marina Granovskaia's future with Lukaku, Kounde and Gvardiol plans all up-in-air

CHELSEA'S activity in the summer transfer window could largely depend on Marina Granovskaia's future.

Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio spoke to wettfreunde about the transfer business the Blues could do under new owner Todd Boehly.

Di Marzio claims that Romelu Lukaku wants to return to Inter Milan after just a year at Stamford Bridge.

However, he admitted: "It's not depending on him or Inter.

"I think it should be surprising if a club like Chelsea would let him go on a loan without any compensation."

Any deal that sends Lukaku back to Serie A could largely depend on the future of Chelsea's director Granovskaia.

She was a key figure while the club was owned by Roman Abramovich but since his departure her long-term future is in doubt.

Because Granovskaia spent big money on Lukaku, she is rumoured to not be willing to cut her losses so soon.

Additionally, Di Marzio is claiming that Chelsea will again explore the possibility of signing Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde – andGranovskaia could have a big role to play in that.

Manager Thomas Tuchel was allegedly keen on bringing in the Frenchman last summer and the signing was "nearly done and due to some problems, it collapsed".

But with the West Londoners losing central defenders Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, Chelsea could be increasingly desperate to bring in Kounde.

If that signing cannot be completed again the club may turn their attention to RB Leipzig's Josko Gvardiol.

The 20-year-old has been a key man for the German side, featuring 46 times this season for the DFB Pokal winners.

Spurs are also believed to be interested in a move for him.

Di Marzio stressed that like all deals: "It depends on the project of the new chairman, how's the budget, how are the priorities.

"We still don't know who is going to be in charge.

"Tuchel, obviously knows what the club needs but it depends on who is the technical person who has to get Chelsea's deals done."
