Cristiano Ronaldo HAS to attend F1 Saudi Arabia GP as part of his multi-million pound contract with Al-Nassr | The Sun

CRISTIANO RONALDO must attend the Formula One Saudi Arabia Grand Prix because it is part of his huge contract at Al-Nassr.

The 38-year-old legend signed for the Riyadh-based club after his controversial exit from Manchester United.

He saw his Red Devils contract ripped up after his explosive interview with Piers Morgan last year.

Ronaldo signed an eye-watering £173million-a-year contract with Al-Nassr and part of the deal forces him to turn up to the F1 race this Sunday.

It is the second of the 2023 season after Max Verstappen's win in Bahrain on March 5.

The Saudi Arabian GP was highly controversial last year after drivers threatened not to compete amid safety concerns over a missile strike that occurred close to the Jeddah Corniche Circuit.

Ronaldo has been spotted at F1 before, getting a VIP experience at the Monaco GP in 2019.

The striker was joined by his son Cristiano Jr, as the pair received a tour of the Mercedes paddock.

They both posed for photos and shared a hug with seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton.

The race will not be the first big event held in the country that Ronaldo is expected to attend after he was seen at the boxing fight between Tommy Fury and Jake Paul.
