CRYSTAL PALACE ace Jordan Ayew bravely played on with FIVE stitches in his head after a sickening clash with Leeds man Robin Koch.

The pair smacked heads when they both jumped for the same ball at a corner just before the break.

And it was Ayew, 31, who came off worse.

He was sent to the floor by the impact, and lay flat out on the ground in worrying scenes.

The Crystal Palace medical staff quickly ran on to tend to the stricken star, and Koch himself also needing treatment from the Leeds medics.

Ayew suffered a nasty gash above his eyebrow, with the Sky Sports coverage claiming he needed FIVE stitches to the cut.

The forward was then subbed off on 65 minutes.

And fans were left questioning if letting Ayew play on following the sickening clash of heads was the right decision.

Another said: "Surely Ayew should come off with head injury! For his own good."

And a third added: "Why is Ayew allowed to stay on after that head-knock and having to get more treatment!?"
