Darts star shows lightning reflexes as arrow comes firing back towards him

Chris Dobey produced another 'Hollywood' performance to reach the European Championship semi-finals.

The darts star continues to dominate the headlines in Germany after a stunning 10-7 victory over Dave Chisnall.

Dobey, a die-hard Newcastle United fan, certainly lived up to his 'Hollywood' nickname by putting on a show for the German crowd with his second-highest TV average, including a tournament record-breaking 12 180s.

He has now defeated Chisnall, Michael van Gerwen and Jose de Souza on a stellar run to the last four.

But his run might not have been quite as plain-sailing had he not showed quick reflexes to avoid his dart flying straight back at him during his match against De Souza.

Throwing practice darts, the duo were taken by complete shock as Dobey had to use his instinct to dodge one of his arrows.

Dobey's third dart struck the board but came straight back out, narrowly missing his face as he evaded the danger to his left.

"If ever you were in ever doubt that darts is a dangerous game," the commentator joked.

A clip of the incident was promptly posted onto the Professional Darts Corporation's official social media channels, and received shocked reactions from online fans.

"When darts fights back!" one quipped. Another joked that Dobey had lived up to his Hollywood nickname with the speed of his reaction.

The semi-finals and finals will be played on Sunday evening and the flying Dobey will be tough to stop as he targets a cool £120,000 top prize for the title.
