England U21 vs Germany U21 betting tips

England clash with Germany in a European knockout competition, and for once — there's absolutely no pressure on the Three Lions.

Lee Carsley's side have topped Group C and secured progression to the knockout stages having taken maximum points from their opening two fixtures.

England swept aside both the Czech Republic and Israel, while other results mean nobody is able to dislodge them from top position.

Senior manager Gareth Southgate was in attendance as Anthony Gordon scored the opener against Israel, and Arsenal's Emile Smith Rowe scored his second goal in as many matches.

Things haven't been so good for Germany. They've failed to win either of their opening two matches, and sit third in Group C with one point.

Germany must beat England and hope that the Czech Republic lose to Israel, and even then it would come down to goal difference.

And the winner is…

England Under-21 midfielder Angel Gomes says there is "no better time to be an England player" after their excellent start to Euro 2023.

And it's clear to see why.

The Three Lions are in sensational form having won 10 of their last 12 in all competitions, including victories over the likes of Italy, France and Germany in recent months.

They've scored 32 goals in that run with the side praised for their relentless attacking approach.

England cruised to a 3-1 against Germany in September, and will fancy their chances again given their opponents have only won two of their last eight.

If it ain't broke…

We've tipped him to score in both of England's opening games, and he's delivered on both occasions.

Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe could be viewed as England's most experienced talent given he's the sole player to have turned out for the senior side.

That experience has clearly shown with goals against the Czech Republic and Israel, meaning he's now scored five goals in 12 games at Under-21 level.

The 22-year-old faces an uncertain future in North London, and will again be desperate to grab his opportunity to show what he's capable of.

  • Our tip: Emile Smith Rowe to score anytime at 17/5 with William Hill

Both halves…

Germany have picked up the unfortunate habit of conceding the first goal in recent games, and they quite often concede in the opening 45 minutes.

The opposition has struck first in each of their last three matches, and they've conceded at least one first-half goal in five of their last seven.

Given Germany have no choice but to win, and win well – England's attacking talents should have more opportunities in what could be a chaotic affair.

  • Our tip: England to score in both halves at 12/5 with William Hill
