Erik ten Hag issues blunt response when asked about Jadon Sancho’s Man Utd career after he’s exiled | The Sun

JADON SANCHO is still exiled from Manchester United’s first-team squad.

There are no signs of relations thawing between manager Erik ten Hag and the player.

The £73million winger is still refusing to back down having challenged the boss about why he was left out of the team against Arsenal.

Ten Hag said after the game that it had been down to his poor training.

But Sancho responded on social media, effectively calling Ten Hag a liar.

He has since been left to train on his own and that situation has not changed despite injury problems and the absence of Antony as he fights assault allegations.

Asked how the situation will be resolved, Ten Hag said: “It depends on him. For the rest, we are preparing for Burnley and that's our focus. He will not be in the squad.”

United go into that game against Burnley trying to avoid a run of four defeats on the trot.

The last time that happened was under Louis van Gaal in December 2015.

Ten Hag says now is the time for everyone at United to be united.

He said: “It's my second year. I know it's not always going up, you will have your gaps and you get stronger from it as long as you stay together, that's what we're doing.

“The dressing room, staff, all the staff, coaches, medical, everyone is united and at United you fight.”

Despite Burnley looking for their first win since returning to the Premier League, Ten Hag is expecting a tough game against Vincent Kompany’s side on Saturday night.

He said: “It's about how we play against Burnley, there's no easy game and definitely not against Burnley.

“We know how intensely they play football, we know their approach, I like the approach from them, the adventure, high intensity and dynamic in their game, so we have to play our best.”

Ten Hag is hoping to have Raphael Varane and new signing Sofyan Amrabat available after injury.

Mason Mount has also started training again.
