Erling Haaland shows off gruesome battle scars after Man City’s draw at Brighton as fans remind him to 'wear protection' | The Sun

ERLING HAALAND showed off his battle scars after Manchester City's 1-1 draw at Brighton.

The Norwegian was back in the starting XI after being rested for the 1-0 win over Chelsea last Sunday.

Now fans are desperate for him to be left out again on Sunday against Brentford, after fans got a glimpse of the sort of rough treatment he often gets.

After the game, Haaland took to Instagram to show off his Nike trainers, writing: "Love these."

In the snap, the 22-year-old's bloody shins were on full display – with numerous nasty-looking cuts from the match.

Seeing the snap, one fan wrote: "Has to be rested against Brentford, man's not being protected by referees and he’s taken yet another battering today."

While Haaland received some rough treatment on Wednesday night, he has been able to let his hair down since City clinched the Prem title last weekend.

He attended City's celebratory bash alongside girlfriend Isabel, with the pair stealing the show in matching monogrammed pyjamas.

While boss Pep Guardiola admitted that his side drank "all the alcohol in Manchester" amid their celebrations.

The 52-year-old last night beamed: "Exceptional game, congratulations to Brighton for deserved qualification for the Europa League officially and the game we played.

"I think we drunk all the alcohol in Manchester and 40 hours later we behaved and we showed the reason we are the champions.

"Against that team, doing what they have done with or without the ball, I didn't see one drop of water in our intensity or our idea.

"That's why show me again what we have done this season because we have won it on the pitch nobody gave us absolutely anything."
