Frank Lampard 8/1 to get sacked by Chelsea BEFORE the end of the season after disastrous start to interim role | The Sun

TODD BOEHLY might fancy himself as a manager after a couple of dressing room visits in the past week.

And remarkably, it's just 8/1 that he'll be looking for ANOTHER boss this season and interim boss Frank Lampard being shown the door.

That's the view of William Hill, who cut the odds of Lampard lasting to the summer following Tuesday's disappointing 2-0 defeat to Real Madrid.

The 4-0 aggregate loss and dumping from the Champions League has left the Blues with nothing to play for heading into the final weeks of the campaign.

Lampard replaced Graham Potter as boss until the end of the season earlier this month.

His tenure hasn't got off to the best of starts after losing all of his first four games in charge – the first Blues boss in their 118-year history to do so.

Boehly found himself in a dressing room rant after their defeat to Brighton and blasted the season as 'embarrassing', before making his way down to see the players after their European exit.

Is he looking to change again? With nothing on the line, it's difficult to think so.

And William Hill are offering 8/1 that Lampard is let go before the end of the season.

It's already four games without a win — and just one goal to show for their efforts — in his interim spell, and with seven games left they are 33/1 to NOT pick up a single win.

William Hill odds

  • Lampard not to see out the season – 8/1
  • Lampard not to win a game – 33/1
  • Lampard to be manager at the start of next season – 16/1

There's a trip to Arsenal between games against Brentford and in-form Bournemouth on the horizon, as well as a rescheduled away trip to Manchester United.

A home clash with Nottingham Forest awaits before they finish with an an away clash at Manchester City and home encounter with Champions League hopefuls Newcastle.

Lampard is 16/1 to be in charge of Chelsea for the first game of next season.

William Hill Spokesperson, Lee Phelps, said: “Chelsea’s Champions League campaign came to an uncomfortable conclusion last night, and with interim boss Frank Lampard overseeing four straight losses since his appointment, we make him 8/1 to depart the club before the end of the season.

“The Blues will need capable hands at the helm to kick off next season, and Todd Boehly seems likely to turn to either Julian Nagelsmann or Luis Enrique to steady the ship at 15/8 and 7/2 respectively.

“Jose Mourinho is 10/1 to make a third return to manage Chelsea next season, while Lampard is an unlikely 16/1 shot to be awarded the job full-time into next season.”
