I’VE got no banker today but I’ll be hoping to cash in with my Czech raider.
The King George should be right up PONNTOS’s (3.35) street.
I won a Group 3 on him at Longchamp in May and said to connections then I would love to ride him if he turned up at Goodwood.
There was some give in the ground in France, but I wouldn’t be too worried about conditions today.
He is a horse with plenty of pace, that’s for sure and it would be a great story for a runner from the Czech Republic to go in at Goodwood
I’ve got four other decent chances today including two for the Johnstons. ESCOBAR (3.00) is hopefully the perfect type for a handicap like the Golden Mile.
Being drawn 19 of 20 is far from ideal, but he’ll be dropped in and then hopefully get a bit of luck in the home straight.
He was third in this off 2lb lower last year and shouldn’t be too far away if running up to his best, but he is eight now so we’ll have to see.

KEMARI (4.10) is a nice ride to have for Charlie Appleby, whose horses are running so well at the moment.
I rode him at Longchamp in a Group 2 last October, where he finished second to Manobo.
He has come out and run well since, so the form looks solid, and I’m looking forward to getting back on him.
He needs to step up a little on his two starts this season, but he’s a Group 2 Royal Ascot winner and will go well if back to his best.
BEAUTIFUL EYES (4.45) runs for the second time at Goodwood this week.
Mark Johnston is the man to follow at this track and he wouldn’t be running her if she hadn’t come out of that race well.
We’re drawn in nine, which has looked like a fairly good spot to be near the stands’ side in these sprint races this week, so fingers crossed we get a nice run.
My final ride of the day is also for Johnston, HIGHLAND PREMIERE (5.20).
He has been pretty consistent this season without getting his head in front, so hopefully he’s still off a winnable mark.
He was quite well fancied at this meeting last year, but looked to get a bit worked up. Fingers crossed he can relax a bit more today.
